SolarWinds MSP has announced the acquisition of SpamExperts B.V., a Dutch-based SaaS provider of email security solutions. They have a second office in Romania, and have been in business since 2005. The transaction closed on August 25, 2017. The integration of the acquired technology into the SolarWinds MSP product portfolio is scheduled to occur within the next 30 days.
SpamExperts sells globally, with customers in over 85 countries, and over 10 million secured domains. This includes both Canada and the United States. They have seven partners designated as Web hosters in Canada: Cartika, Cirrus Tech and MyHosting.com In Toronto, HawkHost, in Fergus ON, Web Hosting Canada and Vexxhost in Montreal, and 4GoodHosting in Vancouver. They have fifteen U.S.-based hosting partners. In Canada, Montreal-based web hoster Rapide Net is their top reseller partner, and they have seven other reseller partners in Canada. In the U.S., they have three top tier reseller partners, and nineteen other ones.
“Over the last decade they’ve been providing SaaS-based mail protection and mail archiving services to MSPs, ISPs, telcos and other IT service providers globally,” said Greg Lissy, VP of Product Management, SolarWinds MSP. “Spam filtering is just one part of the best-in-class protection and filtering engine that SpamExperts has developed.”
The acquisition is designed to improve the SolarWinds MSP Mail offering.
“MSP Mail uses a combination of AV and spam filtering engines to provide good defense,” Lissy said. “Spam Expert’s technology provides an even more robust combination with a detection network of over 10 million secured domains, and a rich threat intelligence engine using machine learning and heuristic analysis to offer unparalleled protection.”
SpamExperts’ solutions have been available both deployed in the cloud or on-premises, with services for incoming (spam and virus) filtering, outgoing filtering, and email archiving.
Lissy said that SolarWinds MSP customers will benefit from several user-friendly elements in the SpamExperts product. It has a simple, easy-to-set-up, intuitive user interface. It is available in a private branded option, and can be delivered in 16 languages.
