LAS VEGAS — On the day before it opened its Partner Summit 2014 here, Cisco caused a major stir with its announcement of a $1 billion investment in what it calls the Intercloud, its vision of a network of clouds built by both Cisco and partners, and backed by Cisco.
But as it kicks off its annual partner conference Tuesday morning, there’s a lot more on tap for the company’s partners. CEO John Chambers will lay out his vision, and in what could be the biggest shift for Cisco’s partner programs since its volume-to-value switch a dozen years ago, partner organization leader Bruce Klein and global channel chief Edison Peres will introduce the company’s next-generation Cisco Partner Ecosystem program.
