Distributor Tech Data has doubled down on software. The distributor recently launched its StreamOne software licensing selector site across North America, and pledged that the platform that underlies that tool will yield additional software-centric offerings under the StreamOne banner.
ChannelBuzz.ca caught up with Tech Data Americas president Murray Wright at the distributor’s headquarters in Clearwater, Fla., and as part of a broad and sweeping conversation, got the executives thoughts on the opportunity with software licensing for the distributor in particular, and the channel in general.
We also got into the topic of one of the most prominent “low hanging fruit” opportunity Wright sees left unpicked in the channel: the various financing programs the distributor offers to the market.
