As always seems to be the case, 2014 was an interesting year in distribution. Distributors, perpetually adjusting their strategy and approach to value-add to remain or increase relevance in an ever-shifting markets, found their business buoyed by a surprising, if familiar, ally: the resurgent market for PCs in the first half of the year.
Of course, that underlies how trends like cloud are fundamentally changing the role of distribution and the role distributors see themselves playing going forward. The New Year’s Podcast Series continues with Greg Myers, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Tech Data Canada, joining the show to discuss that interesting year, as well as to provide some hints as to where the distributor is headed in 2015.
Will the Windows Server deadline provide the same lift to the server market that the Windows XP deadline did to the PC market? How did the Canadian market look as 2014 came to an end and 2015 began? Myers addresses these questions and more in this edition of the ChannelBuzz.ca Podcast.
