Jan Ursi lays out global partner strategy for Keepit

Jan Ursi, Vice President of Global Channels, Keepit

Keepit, a Danish provider of a comprehensive cloud backup and recovery platform which specializes in SaaS data protection, recovery and cyber resilience, has announced the appointment of Jan Ursi as Vice President of Global Channels. Ursi has extensive experience in building high-impact partner ecosystems, and will lead Keepit’s global partner strategy to meet accelerating market demand for SaaS data backup and recovery. He brings a proven track record of scaling technology businesses through strong partner networks. Beginning his career at Alcatel-Lucent, Ursi has consistently been at the forefront of introducing disruptive technologies to new markets, from networking, enterprise cloud and hyperautomation to cyber resilience.

Ursi was not brought into Keepit as a replacement: He was appointed as VP Global Channels to lead Keepit’s global partner strategy and accelerate growth in the expanding channel ecosystem. His arrival marks a strategic evolution for Keepit, building on the company’s commitment to partner-driven success. His proven track record in scaling partner networks made him an ideal choice to drive the next phase of growth. The decision reflects Keepit’s ambition to further strengthen its channel leadership and global reach.

“My philosophy centers on making the channel the default route to market, emphasizing deep relationships over transactional interactions,” Ursi told ChannelBuzz. “I believe in amplifying success through partnerships – “punching above your weight class” – and ensuring partners are empowered as the primary go-to-market force. While my approach is rooted in my experience building ecosystems at leading tech firms, I continually evolve my strategy to fit each organization’s unique strengths and opportunities. At Keepit, this means focusing on trust, collaboration, and making Keepit “the most channel-friendly organization in the world.”

At Keepit, Ursi will focus on expanding the company worldwide, strengthening relationships that make Keepit’s independent, vendor-neutral SaaS data protection and cyber resilience available to organizations in every market. His priority is to ensure partners are positioned as the default go-to-market engine –  enabling customers to access Keepit’s solutions through trusted local relationships, while driving long-term, scalable growth.

“Jan has a rare ability to not only build strong partner networks, but also to inspire trust and collaboration across teams, markets, and industries,” said Craig Bumpus, Chief Revenue Officer at Keepit. “As organizations everywhere face growing cyber resilience and compliance challenges, Jan’s leadership will ensure that our partners are empowered to deliver the value, simplicity, and independence that set Keepit apart.”

Ursi’s approach goes beyond short-term profit goals. He is committed to equipping partners with the tools, attention, relationships, and confidence to deliver long-lasting value – positioning Keepit as the most partner-friendly organization in the world across all functions. By combining Keepit’s unique collaborative culture, independent cloud infrastructure, predictable all-inclusive SaaS pricing, and most complete support of SaaS applications with the local expertise of partners, Ursi aims to make SaaS data protection accessible to every organization, everywhere.

“Keepit’s culture is built on making each other stronger – colleagues, customers, and partners alike,” said Ursi. “That collaborative foundation is the ideal platform for growth. My mission is to ensure Keepit becomes synonymous with the channel — and with that, to deliver peace of mind to more organizations, faster, making their business thrive.”

Unlike other providers that rely on mainstream hyperscaler infrastructure, Keepit owns and operates its own technology stack, ensuring full control of costs, predictable pricing, and unmatched simplicity, security and compliance. Within one hour of setup, customers achieve complete peace of mind and data sovereignty – a promise no other vendor in the industry can make.

“I have built and scaled partner ecosystems at Rubrik, UiPath, Nutanix, and Infoblox, driving growth across EMEA in cloud, automation, and cyber resilience,” Ursi stated. “I also helped expand NetScreen and Juniper in Europe, and began my career at Alcatel-Lucent. My expertise spans VAR’s , MSP’s, Distribution, OEMs, ISVs, and global system integrators, consistently delivering high-impact results.”

Ursi laid out his global partner strategy

“My strategy builds on Keepit’s existing strengths but introduces a renewed focus on partner empowerment, global expansion, and operational excellence,” he stated. “My goal is to scale through partners, making them the default route for all deals, and to foster a culture where sales and field teams recognize the value partners bring in customer access, deal execution and solution delivery.”

Ursi also emphasized his ability to foment disruptive technologies.

“I have championed disruptive technologies in cloud data protection, automation, and cyber resilience,” he said. “At Keepit, our SaaS data protection platform is purpose-built for the cloud, offering unique, immutable storage. Keepit, unlike other vendors in the space, runs its own data centers, completely independent from the public cloud providers, and our own tech stack with no sub-processors, guaranteeing data residency, sovereignty and availability – and cost reliability. We offer rapid SaaS disaster recovery for over 12 key business applications, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace and Okta, with features that set us apart in the market. In my previous roles, I also drove adoption of innovative solutions that transformed partner and customer outcomes with regards to cyber resilience and robotic process automation.”

Ursi emphasized the importance of growing Keepit’s channel.

“My plan is to expand the channel, focusing on both growth and quality,” he  stressed. “I want to add new partners, especially those with expertise in workspace solutions, cloud data security and disaster recovery, while also nurturing top performers. The channel will grow in size and diversity, but always with an emphasis on excellence and strategic fit. The emphasis will be on VAR’s, MSP’s and GSI’s. Currently, the Keepit Partner Network includes 962 members, and 436 active partners.

“I expect continued growth over the next year, both in partner count and revenue, as we form new strategic alliances and reseller relationships,” Ursi emphasized.

This includes diversifying the channel even more than it is at present.

“My strategy includes expanding the partner base to include a variety of partner types – resellers, MSPs, GSI’s, OEM, , technology solutions providers, and ISV’s,” Ursi said. “This diversity ensures Keepit can address a wide range of customer needs globally.”

Keepit is especially strong in EMEA, with significant growth in DACH, Benelux, UKI, Nordics, France  and Italy .

“We are actively building our presence in the US, LATAM, and APAC, with new hires and partnerships underway to strengthen and grow these markets rapidly,” Ursi said.

My vision is to make Keepit the most partner-friendly organization by prioritizing relationships, trust, and collaboration. Our culture has always valued partners, but recent changes have further elevated the role of the channel, making partners the default go-to-market strategy and ensuring their success is central to Keepit’s growth. All functions across the company are increasingly becoming partner-oriented building a warm collaboration making the partner ecosystem a natural extension of the Keepit family.
