Enterprise identity security vendor Sailpoint has announced the expansion of Identity University, its industry-leading online learning platform, with new offerings, training, and an enhanced user experience. Identity University was first unveiled in 2017 and opened to the public in 2023. It lets security professionals explore role-based training paths, track their learning progress, and earn certifications and badges to demonstrate expertise and advance their careers. With this news, SailPoint is reinforcing its commitment to addressing the cybersecurity skills shortage, working to strengthen the talent market and help train potential new employees for partners and customers.

Identity University now includes a series of new features, including hands-on labs designed to provide learners with practical experience in a live-tenant environment. These labs cover essential setup and administration topics, along with extensibility capabilities for SailPoint Identity Security Cloud. New training offerings in Identity University include courses and exams targeting administrators and engineers, helping learners keep pace with the continuously evolving identity security landscape. Administrators can learn to build an access model in Identity Security Cloud and perform key troubleshooting activities. Engineers will learn to configure and extend identity security connectors, with the ability to take an advanced-level expert knowledge credential exam.
“Since we introduced our entry-level Identity Security Leader knowledge credential last year, we’ve quadrupled the number of people who hold a SailPoint certification or credential – and we now expect to train and credential 100,000 new identity security professionals over the next three years,” Blanchar said. “By providing enhanced flexibility for SailPoint customers, partners, and individual learners, we’re ensuring that Identity University learners can access the training resources they need in the way that works best for them.”
Identity University now features a new and intuitive catalogue and improved navigation, making it easier than ever for participants to identify the training paths and certifications relevant to their learning goals. The redesign allows learners to celebrate training milestones by sharing their accomplishments with their professional network directly from within Identity University. The updated platform also includes a simplified e-commerce experience, allowing individual learners to easily purchase courses, exams, and short-term access training passes using credit cards. Finally, a new Training Administrator Access feature will allow SailPoint partners and customers to manage their enterprise training accounts more effectively, providing full visibility and reporting on their team’s enrolments and training progress.
