At their IT Nation Connect, ConnectWise announced major advancements to both its cybersecurity and data protection capabilities within the Asio platform. These enhancements empower MSPs to enter the Age of Autonomous Service by unifying security operations, accelerating threat response, and extending business continuity coverage across modern and legacy infrastructure.
MSPs today face mounting pressure from AI-driven cyberattacks, tightened compliance requirements, and rising SMB expectations for always-on IT operations. ConnectWise’s Asio-powered innovations deliver measurable outcomes, including 30-50% faster detection and response through unified alerts and automated actions, reduced tool sprawl by consolidating SIEM, MDR, backup, and dashboards in one unified interface, and improved SLA performance through better visibility and automated business recovery.
“MSPs are navigating an increasingly complex threat landscape while customers demand bulletproof security and seamless recovery,” said David Raissipour, Chief Product & Technology Officer at ConnectWise. “By unifying security and data protection within Asio, we’re helping MSPs to enter the Age of Autonomous Service with an integrated platform that enables them to move from reactive firefighting to proactive, outcome-driven service delivery.”
We all talk about AI’s potential, but the reality is that most MSPs are still figuring out how to make it real in their business. According to recent research, while 90% of MSPs view AI as vital to their growth, most are still in the early stages of adoption citing challenges such as data quality issues (93%), legacy system integration (52%), and a shortage of skilled AI professionals (51%).
“That’s exactly why we built the ConnectWise Asio platform, to break those barriers,” Raissipour stated. “Asio unifies data, systems, and intelligence into a single trusted layer. It now processes over 18 billion data points each month, turning raw information into context that drives smarter automation and better decision-making. Our goal is to remove friction, eliminate tool sprawl, and give every partner the confidence to scale their business in an AI-driven world.”
At this year’s IT Nation Connect Global keynote, Raissipour shared how ConnectWise is helping partners move from automation to autonomy, and how these innovations are creating measurable business impact across every part of the Asio platform.
- Data drives AI success. Every advancement begins with connected, accurate data. The ConnectWise Asio platform unifies information across systems, so automation and AI can deliver reliable outcomes.
- Unified visibility accelerates decisions. New Security and Backup Dashboards connect protection, recovery, and compliance in one interface for faster, more confident response.
- Automation strengthens efficiency and security. RPA workflows now respond automatically to alerts and policy triggers, reducing manual steps and improving accuracy.
- Profitability and scale are built in. ConnectWise PSA powered by Asio centralizes ticketing, scheduling, and reporting, supported by AI-powered automation and guided migration tools that make upgrading seamless.
- Innovation and transparency go hand in hand. A published six-month roadmap and live PSA progress tracker ensure accountability and continuous communication with partners.
- Human expertise and AI collaboration define the future. Agentic capabilities integrate with ConnectWise services to create a balance between intelligent automation and human oversight.
“Last year was about connecting data; this year is about making that data act intelligently,” Raissipour indicated. “That foundation was essential because data is the oxygen for AI. Without clean, connected data, automation stalls and intelligence can’t scale. This year, we’re moving from connection to coordination, turning unified data into meaningful, intelligent action. The ConnectWise Asio platform now brings every signal together in one trusted layer, empowering automation, analytics, and AI-driven insights. This evolution marks a critical shift: we’re moving from automating tasks to orchestrating outcomes, giving partners the ability to anticipate issues, act faster, and deliver more value with every interaction.”
“Asio is not a product,” Raissipour stressed. Asio is a platform, he explained, likening it to the Apple iPhone. It’s a technology that is “not done” and is constantly evolving.
“When we’re asked when Asio will be done, the answer is simple: it will never be “done,” Raissipour explained. “Just like iOS, Asio is a platform that continues to evolve and deliver value across every ConnectWise solution. Over the past year, the platform reached a milestone by enabling faster feature delivery, improved data orchestration, and shared services across products. The ConnectWise SIEM ecosystem has also been expanded with new integrations with Microsoft Office 365, SentinelOne, Cisco Meraki and Umbrella, Duo, and Syslog Router. Today, more than 7,000 partners use Asio across nearly 3 million endpoints. The focus ahead is adoption, acceleration, and ongoing performance improvements that drive efficiency and measurable outcomes.”
ConnectWise PSA powered by Asio brings service delivery, billing, and reporting into one unified experience. Over the past year, hundreds of PSA pages and core services were migrated into the Asio data layer. The focus now is on modernization, creating a faster, more intuitive, and transparent PSA experience. New capabilities include unified billing and reconciliation, improved search and grouping, adaptive layouts with drag-and-drop widgets, and granular authorization that supports entity, widget, field, and content-level controls. ConnectWise MDR brings agentic AI into incident response with RPA-powered Security Actions that enable instant containment of suspicious M365 activity. This capability was demonstrated at IT Nation with full release in Q1 2026.Partners can follow progress through a live PSA tracker updated regularly with owners, dates, and milestones.
Raissipour explained what this means for partners: “Visibility into our PSA evolution that will improve efficiency, security, and alignment across service, finance, and operations.”
The ConnectWise Dashboard now integrates with 14 platforms, including ConnectWise SIEM (powered by Asio), Acronis, BitDefender, ESET, Microsoft Defender AV, Microsoft Defender for Business, SentinelOne, Sophos, Webroot, Breach Secure Now, Infima, PHIN, and Proofpoint SAT. The Backup Dashboard provides visibility across six integrations: Axcient x360Recover, Axcient x360Cloud, Acronis, Veeam, Datto, and SaaS Backup/Keepit. In addition, ConnectWise x360Recover now protects Network Attached Storage (NAS) of any make or model, while new Azure Files protection extends coverage across both modern workloads and legacy infrastructure. ConnectWise Cloud Backup now also expands Microsoft 365 support by protecting Entra ID, ensuring user identities, attributes, and policies can be fully restored, which is critical for holistic recovery as SMBs adopt more Microsoft-based solutions.
“The fragmentation of security and backup tools has long drained MSP productivity,” added Russ Humphries, EVP Product Management – Security and Data Protection at ConnectWise. “With more than 20 security and backup integrations unified under a single pane of glass, we’re proving that an open-ecosystem approach can deliver both choice and simplicity. Our partners can now detect threats, respond with AI-backed automation, and ensure their customers benefit from the fastest business and data recovery possible all from one platform.”
By early Q1, the SIEM will include 15+ new integrations and automated migration tools for partners moving from the classic environment to SIEM powered by Asio. MSPs will also gain access to a dedicated tenancy option, offering private Elastic clusters for advanced analytics, custom reporting, and performance isolation. The next evolution of ConnectWise MDR brings agentic intelligence into every stage of the security workflow.
- 15-minute triage SLA: Starting in Q1, MDR triage will deliver a 15-minute service-level agreement for initial threat assessment, powered by automation that accelerates detection and analysis while maintaining accuracy.
- Agentic response: Integrated AI agents handle classification, enrichment, and recommended actions while keeping expert analysts in control for oversight and learning.
- Proof of work reporting: Each detection event will include a “hero report,” a human-readable summary that outlines every automated and analyst-driven step, enabling partners to clearly demonstrate value in customer QBRs.
“Announcements at IT Nation Connect Global weren’t just a collection of product updates or buzzwords,” Raissipour concluded. “It was proof of what happens when we listen, learn, and build alongside our partners. From the modernization of PSA and RMM to new agentic security capabilities and AI-driven workflows, every advancement we showcased reflects a shared vision: helping our partners work smarter, move faster, and deliver more value. This isn’t your father’s ConnectWise. We’re building a smarter, faster, more connected platform that will keep growing, evolving, and empowering the entire IT Nation. Every enhancement brings partners closer to autonomous operations: a future where your systems anticipate, decide, and act with confidence while you focus on growth, trust, and client success.”
