Anti-ransomware fighter Halcyon signs North American distribution deal with Climb Channel Solutions

Dave Pawlowski, Worldwide Vice President of Channels and MSSP at Halcyon

Halcyon, which has made a decision to focus on protecting organizations against ransomware, has built an anti-ransomware engine specifically to tackle this problem, which combines multiple advanced prevention engines, key interception, automated recovery and enhanced third party security controls into comprehensive anti-ransomware protection. Now Halcyon has announced a new North American distribution partnership with Climb Channel Solutions, an international specialty technology distributor.

“We’ve worked with Carahsoft on the Public Sector side of the business, but until now, we haven’t had a distribution partner serving our SMB, Commercial, or Enterprise segments in North America,” said Dave Pawlowski, Worldwide Vice President of Channels and MSSP at Halcyon. “Partnering with Climb fills that gap and mirrors the success we’ve seen through our distribution relationships in EMEA and APJ. This is a strategic step forward in scaling our reach and delivering greater value to partners and customers across the region.”

Pawlowski explained why Halcyon decided to select Climb.

“At Halcyon, our mission is simple: to make organizations resilient to ransomware,” Pawlowski said. “To achieve that, we’ve built our business around a partner-first philosophy, ensuring that our ecosystem has the technology, enablement, and support to protect customers at every level. Climb Channel Solutions shares that vision. Their track record of accelerating emerging cybersecurity technologies through distribution made them the ideal partner to help us expand our North American footprint and deliver ransomware protection more broadly and efficiently. I’ve had the opportunity to work with Climb in several capacities over the years, and they consistently exceeded my expectations. Their relationships with VARs, MSPs, and national partners are exceptional; these partners trust Climb as their go-to distributor across multiple product lines and solutions.”

Like the broadline distributors, such as TD SYNNEX and Ingram Micro, Climb has focused in on specific areas.

“Climb has developed a specialized cybersecurity practice, positioning itself as a key player in the IT distribution landscape,” Pawlowski said. “They have specialized sales teams across the U.S., enabled to deliver tailored cybersecurity and anti-ransomware solutions and services to partners.  Unlike the broadline distributors, Climb carries less than 100 brands, so their sales teams have more brand focus.  Because Climb specializes in emerging brands, over 50% of Climb’s sales are security related.”

Notwithstanding this, Climb still has an extensive partner network.

“Climb has over 7,200 resellers and MSP/MSSPs globally as part of their ecosystem, with the vast majority in North America,” Pawlowski said. “They continue to make key acquisitions that increase their footprint.”

Pawlowski emphasized that Climb remains focused  on combating ransomware.

“Partnering with Climb Channel Solutions marks an exciting milestone in our mission to eliminate the risk of ransomware for every organization,” Pawlowski stated. “Climb’s reach and reputation within the channel ecosystem enable us to extend our footprint and empower partners with the technology and resources needed to stop ransomware before it can run.”

Halcyon has multiple vendors who specialize in combatting ransomware.

“Climb already represents a strong cybersecurity portfolio, but what Halcyon brings is a truly unique layer of protection purpose-built to stop ransomware,” Pawlowski said. “We complement their existing lineup by giving partners an additional solution that fills a critical gap, helping them better protect their customers from one of the most persistent and costly threats in the market today. So this partnership makes perfect sense. Climb has a strong security practice across its partner ecosystem but lacked a partner like Halcyon, focused exclusively on the anti-ransomware space. We complement their offerings very well, creating an incremental opportunity for both organizations.”

“Halcyon’s platform is uniquely designed to eliminate the impact of ransomware and perfectly complements our ability to deliver emerging, best-in-class technologies to our partners,” said Dale Foster, CEO, Climb Channel Solutions. “Together we’re providing the tools and expertise MSPs and VARs need to protect their customers from one of today’s most damaging and costly cyber threats.”

Pawlowski specified exactly what they expect Climb will do for them.

“Our partnership with Climb is all about scale and reach,” he said. Their ability to recruit, onboard, and enable partners at speed is unmatched. Climb’s field and inside sales teams act as an extension of our own, helping us identify new partners, accelerate enablement, and drive adoption across their network. Together, we can reach more resellers, MSPs, and customers than we ever could alone.”

Pawlowski clarified that Climb has an effective digital platform.

“Climb Channel Solutions offers a digital platform that empowers partners, such as VARs, MSPs, and CSPs, with tools and resources to grow their businesses,” Pawlowski said. “The platform features a cloud marketplace for accessing and distributing a wide range of IT solutions, including security, data management, cloud services, virtualization, and now, with Halcyon, anti-ransomware. It also provides real-time quoting, flexible financing options, and access to a curated portfolio of over 100 vendors, including Halcyon. Partners benefit from training programs, enablement resources, and support for digital transformation, helping them adopt new technologies and integrate them into existing workflows.
