Pure Storage adds new AI and cloud innovations to platform

Pure Storage has announced new innovations in the Pure Storage platform, along with deeper partner integrations, which deliver significantly improved cyber resilience. This integrated and connected strategy provides organizations with a unified defense to proactively detect threats, protect against destructive attacks, and recover with confidence. They also announced enhancements to the Pure Storage Platform that make it easier for organizations to make full use of what AI can offer, streamlining workflows across on-premises and cloud environments.

The cloud component of this news builds on Pure Storage’s recent introduction of the Enterprise Data Cloud (EDC), a new architectural approach that helps organizations solve their data management challenges now and in the future. With an EDC architecture, IT teams centrally manage a virtualized cloud of data with unified control – spanning on-premises, public cloud, and hybrid – enabling intelligent, autonomous data management, and governance across the entire environment.

The standard approach to cyber defense, involving bolting on multi-vendor solutions that exclude the storage platform, does not work. This model leaves organizations vulnerable, missing crucial threat signals hidden in their data. Without native threat detection capabilities at the storage layer, it’s difficult to quickly detect and remediate attacks before they cripple critical infrastructure. As a result, the Pure Storage platform now provides built-in abilities to detect, respond and recover rapidly, and leverages an extensive partner ecosystem that integrates best-of-breed cyber security and data protection solutions.

“The Pure Storage platform transforms your global storage environment into an Enterprise Data Cloud, supporting your AI and data security strategies,” said Charles Giancarlo, Chairman and CEO of Pure Storage. “Data architecture is a strategic decision. Business success depends on leveraging data – and how teams can effectively manage and secure it across their global data estate.”

“In today’s AI era, access to data is everything,” said Rob Lee, Chief Technology Officer at Pure Storage. “Managing your data, not just storing it, is the new foundation for AI-readiness from cloud to core to edge. Success depends on having your data secure everywhere, and easily accessible anywhere, with a unified and consistent experience – in real time, at scale, across any workload.”

With increased activity in the ransomware and threat landscape, an organization’s storage platform must become an active component of security architecture – detecting and stopping threats at the data layer. Pure Storage is building an extended-threat network to share bi-directional threat signals with their ecosystem of partners. These detection capabilities then integrate seamlessly into existing built-in security tools and workflows.

A lot of this is being done through alliances. Pure Storage and CrowdStrike are working together to strengthen security in mission-critical storage environments. By ingesting storage data from Pure Storage arrays into Falcon Next-Gen SIEM, joint customers will gain real-time visibility and automated response – instantly updating policies, isolating systems, and securing replication to stop attacks before they impact critical operations.

“At CrowdStrike, we’re committed to stopping breaches across every critical area of enterprise risk,” said Michael Rogers, vice president, Global Alliances, CrowdStrike. “Our work with Pure Storage extends that protection to mission-critical data, giving organizations the speed, precision, and resilience they need to stay ahead of adversaries.”

Pure Storage has also partnered with Superna to provide file and user monitoring that specifically targets attacks like data exfiltration or double-extortion ransomware. Integrated with Pure Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade, Superna Data Security Essentials provides automated, real-time threat detection and response at the data layer. Compromised accounts are instantly locked when malicious activity is detected, and security policies are enforced automatically.

“The partnership between Superna and Pure Storage brings together best-in-class performance and uncompromising security,” said Steve Arlin, Vice President Global Technology Alliances, Superna. “Together, we’re helping customers not only unlock the full power of their data but also defend it against today’s toughest cyber threats –  without complexity, without compromise.”

The real cost of an attack is downtime, so organizations must be confident that applications can restart safely, and backup data can be trusted. But there is no one-size-fits-all solution; response and recovery capabilities need to dynamically adapt in the moment to keep businesses running. Pure Storage and Veeam have partnered to create enterprise-wide fleet-wide visibility, automation, and clean data recovery. Delivered as a service with a cloud-like consumption model and backed by SLAs, the solution strengthens security, accelerates time to recovery, and reduces total cost of ownership.

“Pure Storage and Veeam Software have come together to deliver true cyber resilience by replacing fragmented, manual processes with a unified, policy-driven automation approach through the integration of Pure Enterprise Data Cloud with Veeam Data Platform,” said John Jester, Chief Revenue Officer at Veeam. “Delivering these capabilities as ‘Cyber Resilience delivered as a Service’ empowers customers with the agility and scalability they need – free from infrastructure constraints.”

Through the Azure Native Integrations program, Pure Storage has delivered a first-of-its-kind service built for Azure VMware Solution. As a result, customers can reduce overhead, seamlessly migrate without refactoring, and decouple storage from compute. Offered as a fully managed Azure native service with enterprise-grade resiliency and efficiency, Pure Storage Cloud is available within the Azure portal now.

“Organizations looking to embrace AI and next-gen cloud services with Microsoft must first move data to Microsoft Azure. For many, migrating storage-intensive VMware workloads has been a significant challenge,” said Aung Oo, VP, Azure Storage. “That’s why we’re thrilled to partner with Pure Storage to provide an Azure Native service built for Azure VMware Solution. Together, we’re making it easier for customers to migrate data-heavy VMware workloads into Azure and quickly leverage the latest cloud innovations in AI and analytics.”
