For the first time in almost four years, HP Canada has a Canadian leader. The company has announced that longtime executive Lloyd Bryant will take over as managing director of HP Canada, replacing Peter Galanis, who is heading to a new role at the Americas level with the company’s Enterprise Group.

Details of Galanis’ new role will be announced “in the near future,” HP Canada confirmed. With Galanis moving into the new role, the company has also promoted Charlie Atkinson to serve as vice president and general manager in charge of HP Canada’s Enterprise Group, a position held by Galanis along with the managing director title. As did Galanis, Bryant will hold dual roles, picking up managing director duties while also holding onto his position as vice president and general manager of the company’s Printing and Personal Systems Group.

Bryant is a familiar face to the Canadian channel, having led the company’s printing group before taking over the PPS division when those two units were merged last year. Atkinson is also familiar to many partners. The 13-year HP veteran has served in a variety of roles in the company’s Enterprise Group, most recently heading up converged infrastructure and cloud strategy and sales, among other roles.

Galanis has been leading HP Canada since March of 2010, when he replaced longtime HP Canada president Paul Tsaparis, who moved into an Americas role within HP’s Enterprise Services group, and has since retired from HP. Prior to coming to HP Canada, Galanis was director of global accounts for HP’s manufacturing and distribution business in the central U.S.

The company’s dual channel chiefs will continue in their current roles, with Gary Drysdale heading up partner relations for PPS, while Andrew Eppich leads channel efforts on the Enterprise Group side.
