ViewSonic increases Canadian investment and ramps up Canadian channel operations

Deidre Deacon, General Manager and Channel Chief at ViewSonic Canada

ViewSonic has announced new investments in its channel operations in Canada including a broadened national footprint that invests more in Canada. This includes new logistics capabilities including new warehouse operations in Vancouver and Toronto for ‘in-country fulfillment’ and a new demo centre in Toronto where  ViewSonic can present its complete line of high end display and presentation solutions to partners and their customers.

“The  most important thing here is that this is part of a release that is part of a larger strategy in Canada,” said Deidre Deacon, General Manager and Channel Chief at ViewSonic Canada. “Being able to invest, and to get products quickly, is a game-changer for us. It allows us to support the channel the next day.”

Deacon said that ramping up ViewSonic’s investment in Canada has been particularly valuable for both distribution partners and channel users.

“We are changing the way that we do our operations,” Deacon stated. “We have been subject to tariffs, and we cut many SKUs in September as a result. That allows us to pass our tariff-free pricing on to our customers.”

Deacon said that their demo strategy is big as well.

“This is another big benefit for partners,” she said. “We have also shared space in the past. Not having to do so is part of a bigger story that we are now more heavily invested in Canada.”

These new smart warehouse operations in Vancouver and Toronto now provide direct-from-factory, in-country fulfillment for ViewSonic’s complete line of visual display and presentation solutions, with same and next day delivery on all in stock models.

“The enhancements are  more than new logistics infrastructure,” Deacon said. “They are done in conjunction with the  demos – getting products faster and easier at better price points and with better turnaround. We now have next day delivery. Before, we shipped from California and it took a week.”

These new smart warehouse operations in Vancouver and Toronto are 10,000 sq ft in Vancouver, and double that in Toronto.

“The smart warehouse has the ability to order and deliver the next day, and with as few touches as possible,” Deacon indicated. “Now you also have the in-country fulfillment, from Canadian warehouses rather than the US.”

ViewSonic has also opened a new fully equipped demo centre in Toronto, marking a strategic addition to its Canadian channel operations. Purpose-built to serve both channel partners and customers, the centrally located facility offers hands-on access to ViewSonic’s latest display innovations. Visitors to the demo centre can experience ViewSonic’s cutting-edge display technologies firsthand, including the latest Direct View LED displays, including its innovative foldable LDS model, and its industry-leading interactive flat panel series. All featured solutions will showcase the brand’s commitment to immersive, collaborative solutions across education, enterprise, and commercial sectors.

“Being able to demo some product in Canada is new,” Deacon said. “But 138 inch products can’t be demoed. This is all brand new – as we did not have a warehouse before, and no dedicated centre for large panels. That is critical to touch and feel.”

ViewSonic will continue to support resellers through their distribution partners of choice, but now with factory-direct, in-country inventory providing same and next-day shipping on in-stock items, along with aggressive new pricing, promotions and programs.

“Our channel model with distribution says the same,” Deacon stated. “It’s better at a tariff-free price point. It’s also important that it takes one day and not a week to get it.”

ViewSonic’s sales team has also been expanded with two new positions.

“All of my team is outward account managers, and we are adding another body in Toronto and hiring another out west,” Deacon indicated. “This takes advantage of the demo centre. The growth of the outward sales force will also help us get coverage from more partners.”

In addition to the LED displays, the new IFP34 Series of interactive flat panel displays will also be showcased, combining ultra-responsive interactivity, enhanced collaboration features, enterprise-grade security, and industry-leading energy efficiency. The IFP34 series is available in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 86-inch models.

“The Toronto demo centre is more than just a showroom; it’s a dedicated space for our partners to bring their clients and showcase the real-world impact of ViewSonic solutions,” Deacon said. “This hands-on experience is crucial for demonstrating our combined capabilities, fostering collaboration and reinforcing our commitment to helping our partners grow their business with us. Pricing for flat panels has stayed alive, especially since tariffs increased. We are not seeing price erosion, like we did on the LCD side. We have taken aggressive pricing moves of our own in the last two months.”

Deacon reaffirmed that all major ViewSonic products will be there.

“Partners will be able to work with us and bring end users in,” she said. “We are already booking resellers, which includes partners out of the U.S.”

Deacon said ViewSonic has over 2000 partners who transact every month.

“All partners will be able to take  advantage of the new fulfillment strategy – including ones we haven’t done business with yet,” she concluded.
