The new Cyber Recovery software is an orchestration add-on to Data Domain software, and is offered at no cost with it. While the main interest is from the high end of the customer pyramid, Dell EMC expects there will be a significant channel play.
The Dell EMC DD3300 replaces the DD2200 in the Data Domain lineup, providing the ROBO-SME part of the market with an offering that features full cloud capability as well as upgraded capacity.
In addition to upgrades to VxRail, VxRack SDDC, both their Enterprise and Native hybrid clouds, and new turnkey VMware Ready Systems for ‘do it yourself’ cloud deployments, Dell EMC also announced GA for XtemIO X2 and an upgrade of their Dell Data Protection Suite for Applications.
Dell EMC World this year has seen the integration of support from legacy Dell products like PowerEdge servers for EMC solutions. This particular integration goes the other way, with support from legacy EMC storage management and data protection products being announced for the mid-range SC line.
ExaGrid, which competes against much larger players like EMC Data Domain, is in a growth spurt, has ramped up its internal sales which work with channel partners, and hopes to go public in between two and two and a half years.
