SherWeb’s first RMM integration, with ConnectWise, is scheduled to go live in Q1 of next year, a major step for the Cloud Services Provider, who previously had no direct integration with ConnectWise.
Cloud distributor Pax8 continues to expand and grow its vendor roster, adding Acronis and Dropsuite in the business continuity space, and IRONSCALES, Passportal and Proofpoint for different things within security.
Acronis has also added improved their ransomware protection and added runbooks to their disaster recovery orchestration, democratizing the process so it can be done without professional services. Previously announced Azure and Google Cloud integrations are also part of this release.
Support for the Google Cloud will be integrated into each Acronis solution at their next release, and Acronis will release a specific backup for Google’s G Suite before the first half of the year ends.
Data protection vendor Acronis announces a Backup Cloud Extension for Azure, as well as the future availability of a Backup Cloud Extension for Microsoft Azure Stack – which will be available when Microsoft releases Azure Stack.
In addition to the Odin enhancements, Ingram Micro is emphasizing the relevance of their new referral program for Advisors, in the wake of Microsoft’s announcement that the program is being sunsetted.
The Acronis Backup Service complements last year’s Acronis Backup as a Service. While the latter is aimed at core cloud partners – service providers and MSPs – this new one is targeted at traditional software resellers, and lets them dip their toe in the cloud by having Acronis do most of the work.
Acronis believes its path to growth and success is not in making a better product, but rather redefining what it means to back up data in workloads context.
A survey from Acronis shows companies are still struggling with BYOD, but education and other help from solution providers could help tame those issues.
