HPE is redefining the full-stack private cloud through HPE Private Cloud Business Edition with HPE Morpheus VM Essentials, and made new storage announcements and guarantees as well.

Sherry Williams, SVP and GM, Private Cloud and Flex Solutions at HPE
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has announced a big step forward in their advanced private cloud portfolio. HPE Private Cloud Business Edition is now available with HPE Morpheus VM Essentials. Business Edition is available as dHCI or HCI, and lets organizations choose optimized architecture for VMs from the edge to the data centre. HPE also announced new SMB-focused StoreOnece software, new guarantees for HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 to strengthen cyber resilience, and new guarantees as part of the HPE Storage Future-Ready Program.
“We’re announcing a new unified private cloud portfolio powered by HPE Morpheus. Software,” said Sherry Williams, SVP and GM, Private Cloud and Flex Solutions at HPE. “This, coupled with our data storage and data protection portfolio, and enterprise-grade services and support, uniquely positions HPE to be able to drive critical outcomes to improve resiliency efficiency.
“While our competitors are just starting to talk about disaggregated hyperconverged infrastructure. HPE is more than five years in, and we’re pulling even further forward,” Williams stated.
“Enterprises are under tremendous pressure from all sides,” Williams noted. “Cloud sprawl, technical debt, astronomical virtualization costs all hinder their ability to invest in and adopt AI. Enterprises are also struggling with operational complexity. Managing storage here, compute there, and networking VMs in different silos. It all adds up to more cost more friction.”
HPE also anticipated what would be needed for next generation private cloud, and the need for on-prem control greater flexibility and cost efficiency.
“In December 2024, we introduced HPE VM Essentials, which gives our customers real choice with respect to virtualization and a very affordable path forward,” Williams said. “Now we’re bringing together HPE VM Essentials and HPE Morpheus software and extending it across our entire private cloud.”
HPE Private Cloud Business Edition is now available with HPE Morpheus VM Essentials, which reduces VM licenses costs by more than 10X2 with multi-hypervisor support and self- service cloud consumption, adding to a 2.5X3 lower total cost of ownership (TCO) provided by HPE’s disaggregated hyperconverged infrastructure (dHCI).
HPE Morpheus Software family, which unifies private clouds and delivers runtime choice, is generally available and includes HPE Morpheus VM Essentials for virtualized workloads and HPE Morpheus Enterprise Software for unified cloud management. Both software offerings include the HVM hypervisor from HPE and are licensed per-socket to reduce TCO.
“The second announcement we are making is taking our HP Morpheus VM Essentials and Morpheus Enterprise and integrating that into our private cloud portfolio for the data centre and the edge”, Williams said.
“Today, we are making two key announcements,” said Rajiv Bardwaj, VP Chief Product Officer at HPE. “The first one is the HP Morpheus Enterprise. This is for hybrid cloud management. What it essentially delivers to our customers the flexibility to manage any workload on any cloud. The workload could be a VM virtual machine could be a containerized workload, could be a bare metal workload. It could run in the data centre. It could run in the Edge or be managed on the public clouds. That is what Morpheus Hybrid Cloud Management delivers to our customers.
“The second announcement we are making is taking our HP Morpheus VM Essentials and Morpheus and announcing integration of the HPE VM Essential Hypervisor and HP Morpheus VM Essential hybrid cloud management into these portfolios. And we deliver on multiple capabilities for our customers. First and foremost is it’s a full stack disaggregated architecture with both hardware and software. And what that means is we give customers an integrated solution with compute, networking, storage. and integrating that into our private cloud portfolio.”
Bardway emphasized how all this is extremely well-suited for MSPs.
“Morpheus Enterprise Management Software has inbuilt capabilities for enabling our service providers to deliver their value-added managed services on top,” he stated. “It has inbuilt capabilities for enabling our service providers to deliver their value-added managed services on top using the Morpheus Enterprise Management Software. So it’s built for that. It’s designed for MSPs. and the open platform gives the ability for MSPs to bring their differentiation in the market. So they can bring their value-added services, they can bring their customized services, integrate them with enterprise Morpheus software, and they can deliver them as a service provider in the market, integrate them with enterprise Morpheus software, and they can deliver them as a service provider in the market. And one thing I want to highlight there is, again, it provides compute, networking, and storage virtualization. The solution caters to allowing our service providers to actually build their business models around it.
On the storage front, to address the data protection challenges faced by remote office/branch offices (ROBOs) and small-and-medium-sized-businesses (SMBs), HPE also expanded its StoreOnce backup and recovery appliance portfolio. New entry-level HPE StoreOnce 3720 and 3760 models – ideal for edge deployments, will scale seamlessly from 18 terabytes (TB) to 216TB of local usable capacity (and up to 648TB usable capacity with option introduce
“With the comprehensive data protection portfolio that HP is able to bring to bear as well as with these new entry-level store once appliances we’re able to enable our customers to tackle those challenges such as AI cloud storage head on,” said Stephen Bacon. Vice president of data protection

HPE introduced the following new service-level agreements (SLAs) and guarantees designed to protect and future-proof customers’ IT infrastructure. These include Zero Data Loss and Downtime Guarantee, which eliminates recovery time with high-availability, synchronous replication known as active peer persistence. Cyber Resiliency Guarantee ensures access to recoverable immutable snapshots and urgent access to outage recovery experts within 30 minutes or less of a reported ransomware incident. Energy Consumption Guarantee ensures storage operates to an optimal power level for peak performance and that energy consumption stays below a set threshold.
These new guarantees join the existing guarantees available to B10000 customers as part of the HPE Storage Future-Ready Program, including 100 percent Data Availability, StoreMore data efficiency guarantee for at least 4:1 cost savings, and a free, non-disruptive controller refresh for 30 percent lower TCO1.
“It’s great to be out here talking about this,” said Sanjay Jagad, VP of Structured Data for HP Storage. “We have embarked on this journey to simplify storage through a disaggregated architecture based on electrostorage MP which is basically a common hardware platform A common operating model through GreenLake Cloud Platform,” Jagad said that taking advantage of this architecture to scale granularly in different dimensions in a disaggregated way would consolidate their storage and thus also reduce their energy consumption by about 45 points. Basically, on an average, they were able to achieve about 40% of cost savings.
“And to drive that as part of this announcement, we are announcing a new set of SLAs and guarantees that actually complement a lot of our existing ones that we already have,” he noted. “We will have a new cyber resiliency guarantee which combines our native ransomware protection capability, including immutability And using some of the latest AIOps technology to have anomaly and entropy detection so that we can combine that with our services to ensure that you have access to our expertise in less than 30 minutes.”
“We also have a new guarantee against data loss and downtime giving our customers RTO and RPO of zero,” Jagad concluded. “We are also taking advantage of this industry leading AI ops capability where we can help our customers improve their productivity. We have been hearing from our customers that they are doing all this day-to-day firefighting. and are not able to spend the resources on things that really matter to their business.”
