With the launch of its own public platform that’s compatible with its familiar on-site infrastructure, VMware is making the pitch that it’s the right choice for truly flexible clouds.

And there’s a third category of hybrid clouds that fit into VMware’s plans. Along with customer-hosted and VMware-hosted infrastructure, the company expects many of its partners to add their own VMware-based cloud , and workloads will be able to easily amongst all three models

I caught up with , executive director of architecture and for VMware , at the company’s VMforum event in Toronto to about VMware’s strategy and how partners fit into the equation.
