The announcement at Computex Taipei 2015 is intended to be SanDisk’s coming out party for the large Taiwanese ODM market, with a product that will sell mainly through the ODMs, but will have some channel pockets.
SanDisk has created a second program for its enterprise-focused products, which mainly came from Fusion-io, because their target markets, sales motions, and skill requirements are different from the SMB-focused Premier program.
Nine separate bundles across the Windows, VMware and Linux platforms give SanDisk a broad range of “device+software” solutions for server-side solid-state caching.
While NexGen’s R&D and overall sales benefitted significantly from being part of larger companies, moving forward they believe they will be in a stronger position to satisfy customers as a separate company.
