Dell names Dagher global channel chief

Rola Dagher, president of Cisco Canada and soon to be Dell global channel chief

Dell Technologies has its new global channel chief and it’s a familiar name to both the Dell channel and the broader Canadian channel.

Dell announced late Monday that Rola Dagher, a former Dell executive and current president of Cisco Canada, will be returning to Dell to take over the role as leader of its global channel efforts, filling the role Joyce Mullen announced she would be leaving last month. Dagher will return to Dell on September 7, the company announced. In her previous term at Dell, Dagher served in leadership roles in the company’s infrastructure and enterprise groups.

In a statement announcing her new role, Dagher said her “commitment is to listen, learn and lead through our partners to deliver best-in-class transformational solutions and a digital-first customer experience,” suggesting some early-days priorities for Dagher in her new role.

I’m looking forward to building upon our deep relationships with partners and leading this incredible organization to further success,” Dagher said in the statement.

In announcing Dagher’s arrival, the company announced a new structure for its partner efforts, one that more formally separates channel program leadership and channel sales leadership. Dell says Dagher will head up global partner strategy, vision, program design, partner experience, and enablement efforts.

Channel sales will be split regionally, with Gregg Ambulos continuing in that role for North America, while Latin American channel sales leader Diego Majdalani moves up to channel sales lead for the rest of the world, with several other regions reporting to him.

Ambulos as North American channel sales lead will report to North American sales chief John Byrne, himself a former Dell global channel chief, while Majdalani will report to international sales chief Angus Hegarty.

Dagher departs Cisco Canada just over three years after coming over to the networking vendor from Dell to lead the Canadian business. The role pushed Dagher from a star executive to one of the highest-profile executives in the Canadian technology industry, and

A Cisco Canada spokesperson said no replacement has been named for Dagher as of now. The company has gone a variety of different routes in naming new Canadian leaders in recent years, appointing an internal Canadian executive (Nitin Kawale), bringing in an executive from within the company but outside of Canada (Bernadette Wightman), and looking outside the company for Dagher.
