Quest on Demand Migration has been sold since the end of March, but is being officially announced at Microsoft Inspire. All of the deals which have closed in the quarter plus since it has been available have gone through partners.
While the financial and organizational linkages to Quest since it and SonicWall were spun together out of Dell in November 2016 were not at the level of a distraction, the removal of their final elements will benefit the company going forward.
While this is still mainly a direct play, the channel component has been growing, and One Identity is actively trying to grow its channel business around Safeguard.
The IAM business in what will once again become Quest is today about 90 per cent direct. In the last year, they have been working with the SonicWALL channel, but are now investing in a channel of their own, focused more on the mid-market and smaller enterprises.
The expanded partnership includes both the U.S. and Canada, and opens up a relationship which previously had been limited to some Dell brands that came through acquisition and the federal government business.
