The cloud itself comes from a partner, which does have a Canadian data centre capacity. It is first available as an integration with Arcserve’s UDP appliance and is likely to have special appeal to MSPs, including those not presently offering managed services.
The new program replaces the legacy one Arcserve brought with it from its days as part of CA, and leverages Ingram Micro’s business intelligence capabilities in several respects.
Arcserve believes consolidating with a single broadliner will strengthen their market presence as they continue to bring a range of new offerings to market.
These models are aimed at the SMB and lower mid-market spaces, but more will be following which will take on the higher midmarket where the Symantec-Veritas NetBackup 5000 plays.
The CA spinoff, which is now free to focus on its SMB and midmarket-focused product line, is also announcing a free edition of its software, and an update of its Unified Data Protection (UDP) which adds some new features.
