NetApp's VP of OEM and Alliances will handle the channel chief duties until a successor is named.
ChannelBuzz has learned that Bill Lipsin, who has been the Vice President of Global Channels at NetApp, will be leaving the company. NetApp notified its global channels team of the news earlier today. No replacement has been named, and the company will be conducting a search for a replacement. Rick Hegberg, NetApp’s VP of OEM and Alliances, will oversee the global channels team until a permanent replacement is named.
Lipsin had joined NetApp two years ago from Brocade, where he had been vice president of Global Channels and Systems Integrators.
NetApp has been engaged in a restructuring of its channel program over the past year, to make it better fit with the company’s push into cloud and the flash market under CEO George Kurian.
ChannelBuzz will post additional information on this situation as it becomes available.
