Veeam is the first availability vendor to be deeply integrated with the new 2.0 version of Cisco’s HyperFlex hyper-converged platform, which will be good news for joint Veeam and Cisco partners.
The multi-hypervisor disaster recovery orchestration engine, which also works with Veeam Backup & Replication, is designed to let enterprises easily execute, test and document DR plans, and should provide partners with additional consulting opportunities.
The latest addition to Veeam’s free offerings for its community is aimed mainly at Linux servers running in the cloud, but also supports physical Linux servers, and will offer partners ways to monetize it, though some may be down the road.
The new functionality will also let service providers provide their customers with cloud-based disaster recovery-as-a-service (DRaaS) through the new Veeam Cloud Connect Replication for Service Providers offering.
