During the week of VMworld, HP added new security-related products and updates to its cloud solutions.
“Our flagship offering is CloudSystem – an integrated platform for cloud services, as well as software capabilities,” said Frances Guida, manager of Cloud Solutions and Infrastructure. “We’re announcing optimization with VMware, with preconfigured and pre-integrated solutions that include HP. We’ve supported VMware, Microsoft, and other virtual machines. Now we’re optimizing it to give customers faster time to solution.”
In its Converged Cloud Strategy HP set out a vision and direction and how clients will be using private, public, managed, and corporate clouds.
“This is a plan across the entire company,” Guida said. “It’s composed of three fundamental values… · Confidence – security management, automatic, end-to-end · Consistency – same environment · Choice – open heterogeneous, multiple hypervisors, running on HP.”
The company is extending its strategy of operating principal of choice and bringing optimization for VMware with HP cloud.
“You can spin up very quickly, but if you don’t think about backup in advance you won’t have the protection necessary,” said Guida. “Policy-based is backup completely integrated with vCloud Director.
