McAfee Enterprise and IBM Security to launch joint SIEM offering through TD SYNNEX

The joint solution combines McAfee Enterprise’s MVISION Device-to-Cloud Platform and IBM Security’s QRadar SIEM offering, in what is the first multi-vendor solution available through the TD SYNNEX Cyber Range program.

Today, McAfee Enterprise and IBM Security are introducing a collaboration that provides a new integrated solution that will go to market through newly rebranded distributor TD SYNNEX, the resulting of the just-concluded combination of Tech Data and Synnex. The integration brings together the McAfee Enterprise MVISION device to cloud platform, and the IBM Security QRadar SIEM product.

“We have been jointly developing this for at least six months,” said Kathleen Curry, senior vice president of Global Enterprise Channels, McAfee Enterprise. “It’s a collaboration between McAfee Enterprise and IBM Security to integrate our platform with their QRadar SIEM, and have remediation all in one place.”

McAfee, before its split into enterprise and consumer companies, was the most aggressive of the major cybersecurity vendors in creating third party relationships, and this has continued with McAfee Enterprise.

“It speaks to how we think about ecosystem building,” Curry said. “We don’t answer every single part of the security landscape, so we launched McAfee MVISION Marketplace for APIs.” IBM was already a member of the McAfee Enterprise Security Innovation Alliance,

This is also the first solution jointly developed by two vendors collaborating in the TD SYNNEX Cyber Range, a virtual program to prepare security professionals to respond to threats.

“Cyber Range is a great space for partners to get the latest and greatest from a cybersecurity standpoint, as well as receive aggregation,” Curry indicated. “While it’s an executive briefing centre for them to learn about products, it also lets them touch and feel the product and to get advice.

“Partnering with TD SYNNEX in this way to leverage this with their customers,” Curry added. “Packaging it up in this way is a first for us.”

“We launched the TD SYNNEX Cyber Range to arm new and seasoned cybersecurity professionals in the partner channel and the end-user community with the best security education and response procedures,” said Reyna Thompson, senior vice president, Security and Networking at TD SYNNEX.

While the solution is weighted to larger enterprises, it is not exclusive to them.

“It can apply to a lot of the market, from the high end of the midmarket up,” Curry indicated.

Curry also noted that the solution would be targeted at TD SYNNEX partners who have a deep security focus.

“We are targeting this at the security-focused partners in the TD SYNNEX world,” she said. “This also gives us an opportunity to expand into the SYNNEX side of the house.” Before the amalgamation, McAfee had worked with Tech Data, but not with SYNNEX.

Curry also provided an update on McAfee Enterprise’s anticipated rebranding.

“The new name and brand will launch before the end of the year,” she said.
