TIBCO enhances and integrates Predict portfolio for improved hyperconverged experience

The Spotfire, Streaming and Data Science solutions have been more deeply integrated on TIBCO’s platform, which improves customer time to value, and has channel partners enthusiastic.

Tony Beller, TIBCO’s SVP of Worldwide Ecosystems

Today, on the second day of their TIBCO Analytics Forum event, TIBCO Software announced enhancements to their Predict portfolio of products, TIBCO Spotfire, TIBCO Streaming and TIBCO Data Science. While all these solutions were previously on TIBCO’s Connected Intelligence platform, they have been much more deeply integrated in what the company is calling the TIBCO Hyperconverged Analytics experience.

“Each of these solutions is powerful alone, but they are also better together,” said  Tony Beller, TIBCO’s SVP of Worldwide Ecosystems. “Through a seamless integration, we have enhanced how these products can work together, bringing our analytics and data together. These enhancements truly accelerate value. They are now what we call ‘loosely coupled and tightly integrated,’ so customers can use them in a way that suits them, in a way that they will have confidence they will do the job.”

Beller noted that the Connected Intelligence Platform has three pillars: Connect, Unify and Predict.

“Connect seamlessly connects any application or data source, because if it’s not there for you in real time, it becomes less valuable,” he said. “Unify is about how to gain better access, better trust and better control over data. Predict is how we can help you consistently predict with real time information and make data-driven decisions at every step of your business life.”

The new enhancements to the Predict solutions will change how they interact together.

“Customers will see accelerated value, particularly speed to value,” Beller said. “It will process the analytics faster. There are some other specific changes which affect them all, such as OEMs being able to bring models into TIBCO that are more agnostic.”

Spotfire 11 now offers embedded data science workflows, lowering the barrier for non-developers to add Python and R data functions to Spotfire analyses.

“There were data science workflows before, but the addition of specific functions in these out of the box workflows, extends that, and keeps with the theme of Spotfire 11 to add a lot more functionality and capability for non-developers,” Beller indicated. “The movement to the cloud is requiring more democratization of data. Spotfire is a big analytics program on steroids for specialized users, but these changes are more for the non-developers. With the move to the cloud, we want to capture new types of users.

“We also added extensibility on some JavaScript frameworks that brings new low code capabilities,” Beller added.

The enhancements around TIBCO Data Science expand its in-data-source, at-scale compute for SQL and ML functionality to a wide range of cloud data sources; and with TIBCO ModelOps now simplifies model deployment and monitoring.

“It makes it more agnostic relating to where models are built, making it easier to take in data for any source,” Beller said.

TIBCO Streaming software uses streaming analytics to quickly and inexpensively  build real-time applications

“It allows data to move in real time, and is very specific to AI and machine learning,” Beller said.

Beller indicated that partners have already been trained and enabled on the changes, and the response has been enthusiastic.

“We have a broad and diverse partner ecosystem, and we have seen a lot of our SI and OEM partners very excited about these changes,” he said. “We are seeing a significant increase in pipeline based on this globally, not just in the U.S. Partners have all been enabled on these. We ran a certification day in April for these products, 3564 people passed their certifications in a single day. That shows the interest of the partner ecosystem.”
