Paul Katigbak named as Kevin Connolly’s replacement running Dell EMC Canada Commercial Business

Katigbak, who had been acting as Connolly’s interim replacement since Connolly’s promotion in January, has now received his official promotion as well.

Paul Katigbak, new head of Dell EMC Canada Commercial Business

Two weeks ago, Kevin Connolly, who had been running Dell Canada’s Commercial Business formally received a promotion to the newly-minted role of SVP North America Commercial Sales Medium Business, which was created to centralize Dell EMC Medium Business sales in the U.S. and Canada. He had actually moved to the new role early in the New Year. At that time, Paul Katigbak was named to fill Connolly’s old role in an interim capacity. He has now been officially promoted to Senior Vice President, leading Canada’s Commercial business.

Katigbak, like Connolly, is a long-time EMCer, although unlike Connolly, who had worked out of the U.S. previously, Katigbak’s EMC roles have all been Canada-based. Before his interim appointment, he had been Data Center Solutions, Commercial Country Manager since January 2017, and was based in Ottawa. Before that, he had been Federal Government and Healthcare District Manager since August 2011, also based on Ottawa. His first job at Dell EMC, based in Toronto, was Senior Technical Consultant Manager, which he started in August 2004. Prior to coming to EMC, he filled a broad variety of roles, including operations, systems management, application development and new routes to market channels.

Katigbak is not doing press interviews at the present time, so a fuller explanation from him on the perspective he brings to the new role will have to wait until then. A key question is whether the creation of Connolly’s new position means that any part of the Canadian Commercial Business will be managed by Connolly, and not by Katigbak, should be clear by then. Preliminary indications are that there will be no changes, and the role as Katigbak manages it will be the same as it was under Connolly.
