CA ARCserve rebate looks to cash in on backup switch trend

Canadian MoneyFrom now until Dec. 31, 2012, CA is offering a rebate of up to $700 per license or up to $5,000 per order to eligible participants who buy CA ARCserve through a qualified North America reseller/retailer to replace any competing backup or disaster recovery software.

It’s an aggressive marketing move, on top of a Gartner report that said in the next few years 30% of vendors will switch backup companies. And it’s aimed at reducing the cost of change, including the complexity, cloud adoption, and new capabilities on the market for data protection.

“This is a deep discount like we’ve never run before,” said Steve Fairbanks, vice president of product management, Data Management, CA Technologies. “Normally we offer a competitive discount on offerings in the channel for those switching from competitors. We’ve offered this aggressive discount to help them make a switch to bigger and better technologies that let them provide more capabilities for less cost. Clearly ARCserve is the leading solution for hybrid data protection and virtual environments.”
