Tweet tweet: Cisco’s Sage to chat with Canadian partners on Twitter

Cisco - Andrew Sage

Andrew Sage, Cisco's new Partner Led leader

Curious about Cisco’s SMB strategy? Not quite crystal-clear on this whole “partner-led” strategy you keep hearing about from the networking giant? Have other questions for a top Cisco exec, who just happens to be a fellow Canadian?

Cisco Canada has announced that it’s hosting a TweetChat with Andrew Sage on Thursday, February 23rd at 2:00 Eastern, to address those questions and more.

Sage is currently the vice president responsible for the company’s Partner Led strategy, and has been its sales lead on small business for a long time.

In a blog post announcing the event, Cisco Canada SMB leader Todd Madgett hints that Sage will address the SMB market and the partner-led opportunity, as well as what partners can expect from April’s Cisco Partner Summit in San Diego.

“As director of SMB for Canada, part of my job is to listen to our small business partners and customers across the country. I’ve listened, and you’ve spoken volumes,” Madgett writes. “ You want to know what to expect from Cisco in 2012, and where we will be investing in the SMB space. You want to know what technology trends will dominate this year, and how you can take advantage of them.”

So that’s what’s on the agenda.

One additional thought: Is it coincidence that this is happening just days before next week’s Cisco Partner Velocity event in Las Vegas, which focuses on training the company’s partners on marketing – and where social media is a perennial hot topic? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Here’s a rundown on the event:

When?

Sage will be answering partner questions via Twitter from 2:00 pm Eastern (11:00 am Pacific) on Thursday, February 23.

Where?

Solution providers can sign up for the full “chat room” experience of the TweetChat with Sage by signing up for the free TweetChat service and joining the Cisco SB Chat room for the session on Thursday.
